Green Infrastructure to be Focus of New Webcast Series

EPA’s Green Infrastructure Program is announcing the launch of the 2014 Webcast Series, beginning in January and continuing bi-monthly throughout the year. This series is generally geared towards public officials and practitioners just beginning to implement green infrastructure, as well as those looking to enhance established programs.  You, your colleagues, and the water systems you support may be interested in learning more about how to add a “green” component to a water system’s daily operations.

The first topic in the series is “O&M and Green: Best Practices for Green Infrastructure Operations and Maintenance,” which will cover best practices in creating a green infrastructure O&M plan and specific lessons learned from early adopters of both regulatory and incentive approaches to O&M. The webcast will feature speakers Karen Sands of the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewage District and Bill Hunt, Professor and Extension Specialist, NC State University.  Throughout the year, leading academics and professionals from around the country will cover a range of topics and applications, from best practices in operations and maintenance to the intersection of green infrastructure and climate change.
